COLLEGE STUDENTS TO FILM A REPORT 
ABOUT CROSS-BORDER DRINKING PROBLEM 
WHAT:
Two students from Southwestern College will be at the San Diego/Tijuana border late Friday night/early Saturday morning to videotape a report about the cross-border drinking phenomenon across the region. The students will be interviewing law enforcement officials and partiers as they return from Mexico after a night of drinking. The project will coincide with Operation Safe Crossing, a multi-agency enforcement operation at the San Ysidro/Tijuana border crossing to combat underage drinking and prevent people from driving home drunk after partying in Mexico.
B-ROLL WILL BE AVAILABLE TO THE MEDIA UPON REQUEST
WHERE:
The students will be shooting their video report at the northbound pedestrian crossing at the San Ysidro/Tijuana border crossing
WHEN:
Friday Night, May 24, 2002 / Early Saturday Morning, May 25, 2002 — From Midnight to 5:00 AM
WHY:
The students are going to put together a report about the cross-border drinking problem to show the officials in the San Diego region the extent of the problem and encourage them to identify more resources for border safety and to support policy initiatives.

The students will be shooting video and interviewing law enforcement officials and partiers returning from a night of partying in Mexico.
